Google Forms allow you to create surveys to gather classroom data and monitor student progress. You can get instant results as student submit responses and view data in simple charts and graphs or as a spreadsheet. Google Forms is integrated with Google Sheets, so you can easily evaluate patterns, areas for improvement and other trends in the classroom.
Google Forms can be used in a multitude of different ways. Possibilities include:
Quiz - How to use the quiz function
Survey students, staff, community - Example: Whānau voice
Student voice and feedback - Example: Wellbeing
Self-assessment / self-reflections - Example: Rube Goldberg machine
Peer assessment - Example: Athletics
Differentiated teaching and learning - see image to the right
Pre-assessment - Example: Music
Student votes - Example: Prizegiving
Sports registration - Example: Miniball
Permission slips e.g. camps, school trips - Example: Ski camp
Writing: Students create a pick-a-path adventure story (this is great for collaborative writing) with links - Example: Christmas Eve story
Create Escape Rooms
Give step-by-step instructions, so that students can just see one section (with one step of the procedure) at a time
Example of flipping the classroom by providing video or website links with follow-up questions for students to answer
You can choose from several different Form question types:
Multiple choice, checkbox list, and drop‑down menu
Short answer and paragraph

You can also turn your standard survey into a quiz, allowing you to specify correct answers, points, and give feedback for correct and incorrect responses.
